Dart 18

The Dart range as a whole is fast, but the Dart 18 is where the speed really comes off a shovel! With a Portsmouth Number of 798 you are talking speed. The 18 is a one design class so the best sailors get the best results.

The 18 is stable and, despite its blistering speed, you don't have to be a super athlete to sail one. The hulls are designed with unique removable skeg profiles and daggerboard requirements, and gives cnotrol through the water. She also comes with the option of a gennaker - yes the complete nutter experience downwind!

The volume of the hulls are substantial, allowing a wide range of crew weights to function effectively. She is easy to right and, according to the manufacturer, this is a simple operation with just one crew. The deck and trampoline give you loads of space.

The 18 is easy to rig, with a ball and socket system at the base of the mast to allow easy and safe erection. The 18 tows behind the car. The rudder system automatically comes up in the event of impact and high speed beaching. Guarenteed high speed thrills all round!

There is a very healthy racing scene and an Association that will keep you posted on events and meetings. You can compete at Regional, National and International levels. There is plenty to learn along the way and lots of high-speed fun to be had.
