RS200

The starting point of the RS design dinghies at 4 metres. Designed by Phil Morrison, the RS200 is a modern high-performance dinghy that enables lighter crews to enjoy the thrills of high-performance sailing.

The boat comes in two versions: the RS200 TEAM with a main and jib only, and the RS200 OPEN with asymmetric spinnaker. The dinghy is extremely well designed to accommodate both crew and helm comfortably and to allow easy access to halyards, sheets and optional gear.

The RS200 is a thoroughly modern design and benefits from the latest technology in terms of rig and operation. With an open transom she drains quickly, and the asymmetric spinnaker is easy to use and simple to stow, and the loading on the sheets means that lighter sailors can get to grips with the boat in heavier conditions.

The RS range of dinghies have burst onto the market over recent years and established themselves as a very popular boat. There are plenty around for competitive fleet sailing and the broad range of RS dinghies offers a wide choice of progression for novice or younger sailors. The RS200 has a hull weight of just 78kg, which makes it easy to manouvre and light to launch.

As with most of the RS dinghies, the RS200 is not really a picnic boat and being fairly lively it is also a fairly wet experience in a good blow. However, picnics are not what the RS is all about. This is a fast, fun and thoroughly modern sailing dinghy that can be enjoyed by youngsters and parents alike.
