|Everything you wanted to know about Dinghies and Sailing|
The RS800 gives all the thrills of high-performance sailing without needing hours of practice to get her to perform. The RS800 sits very comfortably within the RS range, she offers all the high-tech design you would expect from RS but there is a clear intention to make the boat accommodating for both male and female sailors and to provide a little comfort at the same time.
Don't make the mistake of thinking this boat is in any way pedestrian: at just 62kg she is light and excitingly fast. However the rig is relatively small and this makes it fairly easy to handle. there are large kick blocks to make getting out of the trapeze easy. The helm can use a trapeze along with the crew, however this is an option that is easily detached if a sitting position is preferred. The jib is self-tacking and the spinnaker is designed with low loads on the sheets.
A great racing dinghy, ideal for any combination crew and a little more forgiving than some other high-performance options. Certainly not a family boat but a great two-person racing dinghy with plenty of action.
